Din första massage – vad du kan förvänta dig

So, you’ve booked your very first massage at Hagens Massage. Great choice! Whether you’re a little nervous, excited, or just really tired and ready to melt into the table — here’s a quick guide so you know exactly what to expect when you arrive.

1. Come no earlier than 5 minutes

I have 15 minutes between clients. I use that time to give a proper goodbye, prepare the room for the next session, and reply to any messages.

When you arrive, feel free to browse through my books while you wait. I highly recommend my latest find: Disappointing Affirmations by Dave Tarnowski — equal parts hilarious and painfully relatable.

I’ll come in to greet you, we’ll have a quick consultation, and I’ll give you instructions on how to position yourself on the massage table. After that, I’ll step out so you can undress and prepare yourself and I return with warm bags for your shoulders and lower back.

2. The House Is Not a Trap – Come On In!

Yes, I work from home — but before you imagine getting massaged next to a fridge and a barking dog, let me reassure you: it’s a professional setup with its own private entrance.

The main door is open, so just walk in (seriously, no need to knock). Take off your shoes and jacket in the entry, and you’ll find the massage room immediately to the left.

Easy, quiet, and no waiting room magazines from 2014, only books.

3. Cream? Never Heard of Her.

At Hagens Massage, we skip the synthetic stuff. I use natural oils only — gentle on your skin and way nicer to work with.

You get to choose your oil before the treatment. Here’s the lineup:

  • Base oils: almond oil (mandelolja) and jojoba oil

  • Scent options: rose, lavender, and jasmine

  • Unscented option: MCT (fracturated coconut oil) — light, clean, and great for sensitive skin.

If you’re unsure, don’t worry. I’ll guide you through the options like a massage sommelier.

4. No Shower? No Problem.

We keep things simple here. There’s no shower, but after your massage, I’ll gently wipe off any extra oil with fresh towels. You’ll leave feeling relaxed, moisturized, and not like a slippery seal.

5. Best Way to Reach Me: No Calls, Please

Need to change something, ask a question, or say hi? SMS or WhatsApp is your best bet.
I’m usually in session, so I can’t take calls, but feel free to send a voice message — I’ll get back to you as soon as I’ve seen the message (and my hands aren’t covered in oil). I can return your calls as soon as I can.

6. Are You a Bookworm? Let’s Talk.

Got a favorite novel, memoir, or book that made you cry on a bus? I love getting book recommendations from clients. Feel free to share your favorites — who knows, I might read it between appointments!

In short: come as you are, enjoy a warm welcome, choose your favorite scent, and feel taken care of — no stress, no fluff, just really good massage.

Looking forward to meeting you!
